Induced Psychosis

Induced Psychosis

“Government fiat works, you see, only when common people are trained to abandon common sense.  When people know that rules are absurd but follow them nonetheless, they are finally progressive enough to do exactly as the government commands!” from Obey America for Your Own Good by J.B. “Common sense ain’t common.” – anonymous

For the past ten months we have been living in a state of induced psychosis caused by the round the clock, hysterically incessant fear mongering about a “novel coronavirus”. The oligarchs who want to rule and manipulate us always use fear to create panic, chronic anxiety and uneasiness. It’s the ol’ problem-reaction-solution Hegelian Dialectic.

In this case the media (both the corporate and digital) are constantly telling us how many “cases”, hospitalizations and deaths have occurred over a short period of time, from a pathogen no one can see. This generates fear, panic and chronic anxiety.  Their solution is not to reassure us or offer hope by telling the truth that only 4% of infections are serious and the global recovery rate for the COVID-19 is 97%) no, their solution is to give us inadequately tested experimental injections.

During a government and media induced state of, all fear all the time, social isolation and economic uncertainty, naturally we react and quite often we can’t think rationally or holistically. These conditions lead to feelings of helplessness and hopelessness and the sense of not being in control of our lives which in turn trigger distress, depression and concomitant maladaptive behaviors and conditions such as: lack of sleep, substance abuse, delusions, anger, frustration, suicidal ideation and believing things that are not actually true.

Believing things that are not actually true causes the most damage for us personally and collectively. When we believe things that are not true, we set ourselves up for failure and disaster at worst and being bamboozled at the very least. This is very problematic for us but very enriching for the people telling and shilling the lies. Stevie Wonder wrote and sang, “When you believe in things you don’t understand then you suffer, superstition ain’t the way.”

Many of our beliefs and our worldview of reality were given to us by our parents, societal authority figures (education, religion, peers and the media) when we were young and impressionable. Then over time we continued to listen to them or others who took their places.

Much of what we believe is real just isn’t true. The late great Reggie Bryant used to close his daily radio program by saying, “It’s not what you know that gets you in trouble, it’s the things you know that just aren’t so.”

Alas so many of us are holding onto things that just aren’t so. We uncritically accept what authority figures tell us, we believe whatever government officials and media talking heads say despite the fact they have a horrendous history of lying to us. You remember the lies: cigarettes don’t cause cancer, Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and the Russians hacked the 2016 presidential election don’t you?

We have been bombarded with so much disinformation about the novel coronavirus and the resultant public health policies to “mitigate” the virus that have caused so much trauma. As a result the trauma is expressing itself in a myriad of negative ways such as distress, anger, illness and living our lives based upon false information. One symptom of psychosis is believing things that are not true! This is the suffering Stevie Wonder sang about years ago.

The solution to and antidote for lies is truth. We can know the truth by doing our own research, using common sense, going into meditation and listening for and to the sacred whispers, the still small voice of intuition that is never wrong. We just have to discern it from our idle mind chatter and our ego that so often lead us astray. We have the power to heal ourselves and to return to rationality, search for and discover the truth and act on it!
