When Trump launched a second unprovoked attack against Iran early Saturday morning, his mask completely came off, the mask/persona Trump donned to portray himself as a “peace president”. Now the world sees Donald Trump for what he truly is, a mentally unstable war criminal. Trump drunk from his successful take down of the Venezuelan leader actually thought he could attack Iran and that nation would capitulate and surrender to US and Israeli aggression.
The lies
being uttered by the Trump administration to justify this blatant imperialism and
aggression are: Iran poses an immediate security threat to the US, it doesn’t,
Iran has nuclear weapons capabilities, they don’t and Iran is the largest
sponsor of terrorism in the world, they aren’t! They say Iran is the bad guy
and they US and Israel are the innocents trying to bring peace by killing Iranian
school children and other innocent civilians.
The ultimate irony is, Donald Trump
in his insanity partnered with known war criminal and mass murderer, Benjamin Netanyahu,
to murder the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Kamenei, the man who
remained steadfast for thirty-seven years insuring Iran did not pursue the
development of nuclear weapons! The Ayatollah is the second ranking leader in
the global Shia Muslim community.
Their actions will have severe
consequences. The Iranians responded within an hour of the decapitations by launching
deadly attacks on US military bases and assets throughout the Gulf region, successfully
hitting Israel with successive waves of missiles and drones and threatening to
close the vital seafaring throughway the Strait of Hormuz which is the
key transit point for much of the world’s oil supply.
As this war goes on, look for the
economic fallout to be huge not just for the price and availability of oil but
for its impact on products made from petroleum such as plastics. This is only
the third day; things are going to get much worse because Iran sees itself in
an existential crisis a fight for their lives; for them, it’s do or die.
We must never forget, amidst the
noise of Trump’s bluster, bombast and false bravado he was the one who exited
the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018. The JCPOA agreement
facilitated by the Obama Administration in 2015 was a signed mutual working
agreement among the US, Iran, the United
Kingdom, France, Russia, China, Germany and the European
Union designed to ensure Iran’s nuclear program remained peaceful. Iran by all accounts
honored the agreement throughout its existence. It was Donald Trump who
unilaterally pulled out of the agreement in 2018. Now look where we are.
The
Trump Administration and the Israeli lobby are spinning this war as a just war
to prevent Iran from gaining nuclear weapons capabilities. Netanyahu, a modern-day
Chicken Little has been screaming for over thirty year “Iran is months, weeks,
days seconds away from have a nuclear bomb.” Time has proven this to be totally
false. Yet Trump fell for the proverbial okey-doke. So, we have to place the
blame for this insanity where it belongs at the feet of Donald J. Trump and
Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump
knew in January after his meeting with Netanyahu he was going to attack Iran. Nevertheless,
he engaged in deception by negotiating with Iran making offers he knew Iran
could not and would not accept. Trump in
his psychopathy has proven the Native American saying, “the white man speaks
with forked tongue” to be absolutely true. The mask is off and the world sees
Trump and the American ruling class for what they are, warmongers and monsters.
Trump will surely reap what he has sown.
