More Money, More War and More Waste
“President Bush asked Congress on Saturday for $3.2 billion to pay for 8,200 more U.S. troops needed in Afghanistan and Iraq on top of the 21,500-troop buildup he announced in January. Bush wants Congress to fund 3,500 new U.S. troops to expand training of local police and army units in Afghanistan. The money also would pay for the estimated 3,500 existing U.S. troops he already announced would be staying longer in the region to counter an anticipated Taliban offensive in Afghanistan this spring. In Iraq, most of the additional troops would help with the latest Baghdad security plan, which is getting under way in the capital. The money would pay for 2,400 combat support troops, 2,200 military police forces and 129 troops for reconstruction teams. The budget revisions come as many lawmakers opposed to the buildup in Iraq are debating funding for the war. But in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Bush proposed canceling $3.2 billion in low-priority defense items to offset the extra money needed to support the additional troops.” Bush wants more troops Written by The Associated Press

The US corporate media casually reported the other day George W Bu$h is requesting additional troops and more money to keep the AmeriKKKan empire’s war machine whirling in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bu$h claims the men and money are needed to help turn the tide in Iraq and Afghanistan where US forces are bogged down in losing efforts to extend US hegemony. The Bu$h-Cheney cabal is making sure their buddies at Haliburton, Lockheed Martin and the military industrial war apparatus have a banner year. The latest request for troops and money are nothing more than an incremental escalation to man permanent garrisons in Iraq as contrasted to the massive escalations and troop deployments that happened in Vietnam. The Democoward majority in Congress, the same folks who were elected by the people last November to bring closure to the Iraq debacle have betrayed the public already, they will not turn off the funding spigot nor exert their constitutional oversight authority to bring this fiasco to an end.
The sell outs and traitors in Congress who never miss an opportunity to line their own pockets with raises while the masses are struggling to make ends meet as the proverbial ends move farther and farther apart are once again dancing to the tunes of their lobbyist bagmen and New World Order pipers. They are showing their true allegiance, choosing to do the bidding of the lobbyists and corporate campaign contributors rather than handling the people’s business or doing the right thing. In November the ruling elites allowed the voices of the people to be heard choosing to not rig elections on a grand scale like they did in 2000 and 2004. The people overwhelmingly voted for the Democrats, kicking the Republicans to the curb thereby sending the unequivocal message they want change. By their vote the people emphatically demonstrated they want an end to the policies of perpetual war. But Congress betrayed them.
The Bu$hites are moving ahead with their surge plans ostensibly designed to clamp down on the violence in Baghdad and the increasing presence of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Due to the corporate media’s help in drumming up support for the bogus War on Terrorism and denouncing anyone who dared ask serious questions or express righteous dissent, up until recently, Bu$h and Co have had their way. The NeoCon’s policies have not only bankrupted the nation, they have made AmeriKKKa a hideous monster in the eyes of most of the world. Their policies have insured there will be animosity and bloodshed for years to come. Their hubris has blinded them to the lessons of history and the very real implications that this region is the home of the notions of “an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth”, clan retribution and revenge. Not only is the psychopathic NeoCon policy makers’ ignorance of past history undermining everything they do, they are not too swift when it comes to making plans to quell the resistance. It has never dawned on these morons and their US military puppets the tribal freedom fighters and religious Jihadists who are defying the Anglo-AmeriKKKan invaders and the Quisling “governments” in both Iraq and Afghanistan will simply leave Baghdad and take up operations in another part of Iraq beyond the current reach of the US military. In the case of Afghanistan, the resurgent Taliban are making life miserable for the US and NATO forces as they hit and run, duck and dodge into the treacherous mountains and caves of Afghanistan, dart back and forth across the Afghani-Pakistan border and mingle with the locals in both countries who view them far more favorably than they do the Western occupiers. This is the price the US must pay for failing to learn the lessons of both recent and ancient history.
When will the US people realize the ruling elites have no intention of leaving the Persian Gulf region? If the US still has numerous military bases in Germany, Japan and the Philippines sixty-two years after WWII and there are no oil, natural gas or gold in those countries what makes US citizens think the US military plans to leave Afghanistan or Iraq anytime soon? When will Joe and Jane Sixpack wake up and accept the fact the ruling plutocrats are committed to bankrupting AmeriKKKa if necessary to insure they and their multinational oil buddies control all the resources in the Persian Gulf, Central Asia and the Horn of Africa? The bogus War on Terror is merely a PR justification to do a modern day pillage and plunder to steal the oil, maintain US dollar hegemony and subjugate the indigenous people via puppet governments that do the will of the US ruling elites.
The people of Iraq and Afghanistan have other plans! They will resist to the death and they are planning for the long haul. This will be a multi-generational struggle unless the US wakes up and pulls out like they did in Somalia several years ago. All Bu$h is doing is wasting money, wasting innocent lives and diverting resources that could be used to fix our roads, build better schools and fund beneficial and cost effective social programs. Bu$h has the audacity to ask Congress for more troops and money to carry out his doomed to fail escalation plans! The freedom fighters and Jihadists are not going to lay down their arms nor will they surrender to the invaders, its just not going to happen. The real tragedy is Congress will probably give in to Bu$h and appropriate even more money we don’t have for this losing effort. The top candidates for the presidency in both parties all backed the war and none of them have any plans for the total withdrawal of US forces from the region, let alone ending the carnage or saber rattling at Iran, North Korea and Venezuela.
They are all in cahoots with the warmongers in the military industrial complex, the media and international bankers. Not one of them has any serious plans to end the war. The major campaign contributors made sure of that. The Congress has been bought and paid for by Haliburton, Bechtel, Lockheed Martin, GE and so many others. The more money the Congress wastes on bombs and destruction the more profits the bankers, military contractors and media make. It’s a vicious circle. The only way it will stop is if and when the AmeriKKKan people determine to take decisive action, using massive peaceful demonstrations, civil disobedience, consumer boycotts and general strikes to stop it. Until then there will be more money, more war and more waste.
