30 (Reuters) - A group of senior military officers in Gabon announced
on national television on Wednesday they had taken
power
and election results were annulled, just minutes after President Ali
Bongo was declared to have won a third term. If successful the coup
would represent the eighth since 2020 in West and Central Africa, a
region that in the last decade had made strides to shed its
reputation as a "coup belt", only for persistent insecurity
and corruption to open the door to military leaders.”

What
is going on in our motherland, why is there so much instability and
why have so many coups occurred during the past three years years? Is
there something in the air or are there underlying forces fomenting
these coups? Since 2020 there have been numerous coups. Here is a
list of the successful coups since 2020: Mali 2020, Guinea 2020,
Sudan 2021, Chad 2021, Burkino Faso 2022, Niger 2023 and Gabon 2023.
There have been failed coup attempts in: Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Soa
Tome and Principe in recent years.
In
addition to these coups there are ongoing regional wars and internal
conflicts occurring throughout Africa, “Africa
comes second in the number of armed conflicts per region with more
than 35 non-international armed conflicts (NIACs) taking place in
Burkina
Fasso,
Cameroon,
the Central
African Republic (CAR),
the Democratic
Republic of the Congo,
Ethiopia,
Mali,
Mozambique,
Nigeria,
Senegal,
Somalia,
South
Sudan
and Sudan.
Several
armed groups – fighting against government forces and/or against
each other’s – are involved in these conflicts. Western powers
and/or neighbouring countries are intervening in the NIACs that take
place in Burkina Faso, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Somalia.”

The
recent spate of coups in African differ from the previous coups in
past decades. Here is how the new waves of destabilization differ
from past coups, “There have been nine attempted or successfulcoups
d’étatin
Africa since 2020. A stereotypical coup d'état involves the most
senior members of the military (i.e., generals) overthrowing the
government in a short, but potentially violent, incident that causes
mass panic in the population. The most recent coups in Africa differ
in some key aspects from the coups that were seen on the continent in
the past, especially during the immediate post-independence period.
What are these differences, and what do they mean for democracy? It
seems that a new model of coup is being established, which differs in
key ways compared to what has gone before. Coup leaders have been
slightly younger,
the coups have been less violent, and in some cases they have
occurred (with popular
support)
against a background of political stagnation and intense security
challenges. The type of foreign involvement in these coups also
appear to be changing (but this is more difficult to confirm).The
age of the coup leaders has been a remarkably consistent element of
these most recent coups. With the exception of Sudan, the coup
leaders have ranged in age from 34 to 41. They have also been lower
in rank than most coup leaders (and have come mostly from special
forces units), including two colonels, a lieutenant-Colonel, and a
captain. This growing dynamic is certainly not completely
unprecedented: Jerry Rawlings was a 31-year old flight-lieutenant
when he led
his
first coup attempt in Ghana, and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo was a
37-year old lieutenant-colonel when he seized
power in
Equatorial Guinea. The latter example also highlights a potential
negative implication of this element of the current wave of coups:
the leaders may try to stay in power for a very long time.”

During
any conflict it is the innocent who suffer the most not the
combatants, this is called collateral damage. So what is the impact
of coups and conflicts on our people on the African continent? The
most obvious outcomes are: massive social upheaval as people flee
fighting and devastation creating refugee crises in neighboring areas
and countries, disruptions of normal political, economic and social
life which exacerbate existing poverty and inequality, the ensuing
violence and destruction creates questions regarding stability and
governance and uncertainty about how the nation will fare both in the
near and distant future?
Coups
and internal conflict also open the doors for opportunistic
neocolonialism and debt entrapment by entities like the IMF, World
Bank and hegemonic predators like the US and former colonial powers
like England and France. But now Russia and China are vying to
increase their influence and footholds on the continent and the US is
worried.

Some
observers believe Western, especially US shenanigans, are at the root
of some of these recent coups given the West’s long history of
imperialism, exploitation, disadvantageously lop sided commerce,
trade and finance agreements. The fact the West is now in stiff
competition with Eurasia over the continent’s rich natural
resources and allegiances are also factors.

The US’ desire to stop Qaddafi from further partnering with China
and his plans to establish a gold backed all African currency led the
Obama administration to destroy that rich and stable African nation.

can we do? How do we respond and counter the machinations of

We are inundated with propaganda and disinformation round the clock
non-stop. The goal of this propaganda is to shape our views and
perceptions of “reality” as created and designed by the ruling
classes who own the media and exert control over the content carried
in the various mediums whether they be print, visual, radio, the
Internet or newly emerging technologies. Their goal is not just to
make money no, their most important intention is to control our
minds. The last thing these megalomaniacs want is a populous who
think independently, who uses our own discernment and critical
thinking skills to see and define the world and current events for
ourselves.
As we scan the headlines we need to stop and ask ourselves just what
is it the overlords want us to think and believe? Why is all the news
the same? The only difference is the taking heads the performers
reading the news.
Let’s look at some of the current events and the editorial slants
currently in the media. Lately we’ve seen an enormous amount of
attention paid to Donald Trump’s indictments for various and sundry
“crimes”. This is unprecedented, to have a former US President
indicted for alleged crimes committed while in office! So here are my
questions: why has no one or no agency indicted George W. Bu$h, Dick
Cheney, Condoleeza Rice and others for their roles in deliberately
lying to the American people about 9-11 and bogus weapons of mass
destruction that launched the illegal and immoral invasions of
Afghanistan and Iraq? How come after two decades no one has thought
to bring these war criminals to justice?
Along that same line why hasn’t there been a judicial or human
rights inquiry or indictment of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for
their roles in the hideous murder of Muammer Gaddafi and turning the
most progressive nation on the continent of Africa into a totally
failed state? Why hasn’t Obama been indicted for fomenting the coup
that took place in Ukraine in 2014 which has directly led to the
establishment of a neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine and the current proxy
war the US and NATO are waging against Russia?

If it’s okay for local DA’s to indict former president Trump
because he challenged the 2020 election results which have not

Attorney Generals and DA’s going after Trump and Biden for their

As
we enter the annual cold and flu season we are being subjected to
more fear porn about yet another stain of COVID. What we are not
being told is all corona viruses mutate and the usual/normal pattern
(unless they are genetically modified or lab created) is as
they mutate they become less not more lethal!
The common cold is a coronavirus, so is influenza. The reason the
pharmaceutical companies push annual shots is because the common cold
and influenza viruses mutate all the time; every year there are new
strains. There is no vaccine for the common cold! If you took the flu
shot last year and you plan to take one this year, this year’s shot
will be different from the one you took last year, unless of course
the pharmaceutical companies are engaging in fraud which they have
been known to do!
The so called climate crisis is ubiquitously in the news. The fact
is our earth, this planet is a living entity with its own internal
energy and resonance which coupled with the Sun’s energy supports
all life on this planet. All living things go through changes and the
earth is no exception. Over millions of years it has gone through:
ice ages, desertification, continental divides, rising and falling
sea levels, atmospheric changes and catastrophic events. Don’t
allow con men and megalomaniacs to dupe you into thinking the earth

Kevin Betha’s Struggle to Retrieve His Stolen Home

They say, “you can’t fight city hall” and “resistance is
futile”; don’t tell that to Kevin Albert Betha. Since 2018 he has
been attempting to recover his family residence at 905 Belmont Avenue
in West Philadelphia which he alleges was stolen from him by an
unscrupulous real estate agency in collusion with the city of
Philadelphia. Betha claims the city said he owed back taxes on the
property; but he possesses documents which disprove the city’s
claims. Betha has lived in the house his parents purchased in 1976
since he was a teenager. The house was left to their children upon
his parents’ decease and Betha was living in the house and paying
the taxes. Because he refused to swear an oath in Municipal Court
when he appeared in court, due to his beliefs, the court declined to
hear his case. The case was continued for several months
In 2019 the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office posted an eviction notice
on his property. He went downtown to straighten the situation out and
ultimately ended up at the offices of GRB Law the collection
agency the city uses to recoup back taxes, liens, interest and fines.
He showed his documentation proving he had paid taxes for the years
in question. The people at GRB told him they would send him a letter
clarifying the situation.
Several months went by and he didn’t hear anything from GRB Law.
Later Sheriffs deputies come to his home. Neighbors informed him the
deputies were there and when Betha and his uncle arrived he saw a
Ramsey’s moving van with men removing his furniture and
possessions from the house.
The deputies informed him he wasn’t allowed to go into the house.
Betha spotted two Philadelphia police officers up the street and he
went to them and they accompanied him back to his house. Betha’s
uncle told him to go downtown and get a copy of his deed, which he
did. He returned but by the time he returned there was only one
police officer there. Betha showed him his paperwork and the officer
left. Betha called his cousin who is a locksmith and they put new
locks on the door to replace the locks the Sheriff placed on the door
Later that evening several police officers returned to the house and
Betha showed them the paperwork. However a Sargent arrived and told
the officers to arrest him for trespassing and illegally being on the
property They took him to 55th and Pine. He stayed in jail
for twenty-eight hours. After he was released he returned to his
house to discover he had been locked out.
The COVID lock-downs subsequently closed the courts and for three
years Betha was homeless living in an abandoned house. According to
Betha both his home on Belmont Avenue and his rental property at 4315
Westminster Avenue had been fraudulently taken. When he finally went
to court on the trespassing charges his court appointed lawyer and
the D.A. advised him he should take a plea. Betha refused because he
suspected they were trying to trick him so he would have a criminal
record and the Real Estate agency and the city would use that to keep
his properties.
In his efforts to resolve the situation Betha used several unique
approaches. First he established a trust and put his properties in
the trust with his siblings and nephew as trustees, he represented
himself in the court proceedings and he filed paperwork under the
Foreign Judgment Act which allows
states
to enforce a judgment from another state without the expense of
litigation.
During
the proceedings
Betha asked the city Revenue Department to show proof he owed back
taxes and that Giller Real Estate had purchased his house. They were
unable to show he owed taxes or provide any documentation his
property had been purchased. None of the property paperwork listed
the names the Trust Betha had established for his property.
Subsequently all the trespassing cases were dismissed in Municipal
Court and Betha returned to his home. Betha went to the District
Attorney’s office to complain that his Belmont Avenue property and
its contents had been stolen. The D.A.s office didn’t respond for
three months; when they did they did not provide any relief or
solution to his problems.. This made Betha all the more determined to
get his houses back.
In 2021 Betha filed a motion/petition for the return of his property
in Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. The Commonwealth Court
subsequently issued an order for the defendants to return his
property. Betha has a copy of the Court’s order in his possession
which I have seen. To date the defendants have not complied! Betha
plans to take the case to Pennsylvania Superior Court to seek to have
the lower court’s order enforced.
His tenacity and perseverance seem to be paying off, Betha and
several others whose homes have been fraudulently obtained will have
their day in court. House stealing is a common practice in
Philadelphia, real estate agencies, speculators and other
unscrupulous persons target working class people to fraudulently gain
ownership of their homes. In January of 2022 Philadelphia District
Attorney Larry Krasner’s Economic Crimes Unit busted a group that
was swindling and fraudulently stealing people’s property using
forged deeds. D.A. Larry Krasner stated deed theft and illegal
property transfers are a growing problem in the city.
The FBI has been following this kind of fraud since the early
2000’s. The rate of these crimes is increasing. The FBI created
the phrase “house stealing” describing it as a combination of:
identity theft, document counterfeiting, records falsification,
mortgage fraud, government indifference and corruption. Many of these
properties are stolen from the elderly or the heirs and estates of
Philadelphia residents who do not know they have been fleeced and
lack the resources or knowledge to do something about it.
Betha’s case does not exactly match the FBI profile, nonetheless
it is fraud. Betha’s situation is different he is a younger living
individual who has been victimized by document counterfeiting. Betha
is to be commended for his tenacity and resourcefulness to keep
fighting to right these wrongs. He and several others are in the
process of filing a class action lawsuit to seek relief and overturn
the fraud.
