Open Season on Black Folks

Open Season on Black Folks*

“The shootings occurred at about 4 a.m. Saturday outside the Kalua Cabaret, a strip club where Bell’s bachelor party was held. The survivors were Joseph Guzman, 31, who was shot at least 11 times, and Trent Benefield, 23, who was hit three times. Guzman was in critical condition Sunday and Benefield was stable.Relatives of all three men — many of them stoic, and some crying — attended Sunday’s vigil but none spoke publicly. At a news conference Saturday, Kelly said the department was still piecing together what happened, and that it was too early to say whether the shooting was justified.” http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15889445/

A shooting incident in Queens New York where New York police officers shot up a vehicle carrying several black males coming from a bachelor party flashed on the news the other day. One man was killed after being hit with fifty rounds, another man was hit eleven times and a third was hit three times; who knows how many rounds were fired into their car altogether? The community is upset, rightly so;but for the New York police department it seems it is business as usual. The officers in charge have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the proverbial “investigation”. The mayor Michael Bloomberg is doing his best to put a damper on the emotions and spin the situation in a non-controversial light. However the history of the New York police department’s reckless disregard for black life may catch up to him. The major mainstream media outlets reported an angry crowd demanded to know why unarmed men were fired upon and why the police used such inordinate amounts of fire power. Thus far the community has not been given reasonable or rational answers!
This latest incident brings back the painful memories of Amadou Diallo and Abner Louima two men of African descent the New York police ruined their lives. Amadou Diallo was murdered after being shot forty-one times and Louima was brutally tortured by New York police officers who in both cases were subsequently found innocent of any wrong doing by white juries and or review boards. While the spotlight is currently on New York City we must keep in mind the problem of police brutality and violent over reaction against African people by the police is a national phenomenon. “Each year, thousands of allegations of police abuse are filed across the country. While videotaped police actions-such as those documenting Philadelphia police officers beating a man after a vehicle chase, Miami-Dade officers kicking a man in the face after a vehicle pursuit, and Los Angeles police officers using excessive force to disperse political protesters during the Democratic National Convention-displayed the problem vividly in 2000, most incidents of alleged police abuse took place away from public scrutiny. Because of inadequate investigative and disciplinary systems, relatively few police officers who violate departmental rules, or the law, are held accountable. Victims seeking redress faced obstacles that ranged from overt intimidation to the reluctance of local and federal prosecutors to take on police brutality cases. During fiscal year 1999, approximately 12,000 civil rights complaints, most alleging police abuse, were submitted to the U.S. Department of Justice, but over the same period just thirty-one officers were either convicted or pled guilty to crimes under the civil rights statute stemming from complaints during 1999 and previous years.” http://www.hrw.org/wr2k1/usa/index.html
Following 9-11 most of the blatant racial profiling normally aimed at people of African descent was turned on Muslims and Arabs; few examples of police brutality against black folks made headline news. Now we are seeing a rash of incidents not only in New York but around the country. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney recently sent a letter to the US Department of Justice asking them to favorably receive a delegation from Atlanta seeking a federal investigation in the recent murder of an elderly black woman by Atlanta police. The problem with turning to the federal government for relief is that its’ hands are dirty also. “In September, the U.S. produced-five years late-its initial report to the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. With unprecedented and welcome candor, the report acknowledged the persistence of racism, racial discrimination and de facto segregation in the United States. The tenor and content of the report signaled the Clinton Administration's recognition that despite decades of civil rights legislation and public and private efforts, the inequalities faced by minorities remained one of the country's most crucial and unresolved human rights challenges. One of the report's most significant weaknesses was in its consideration of the role of race discrimination in the criminal justice system. It acknowledged the dramatically disproportionate incarceration rates for minorities, noted the many studies indicating that members of minority groups, especially blacks and Hispanics, 'may be disproportionately subject to adverse treatment throughout the criminal justice process," and acknowledged concerns that "incidents of police brutality seem to target disproportionately individuals belonging to racial or ethnic minorities.' But it did not question whether the ostensibly race-neutral criminal laws or law enforcement practices causing the incarceration disparities violated CERD, nor did it acknowledge the federal government's obligation, under CERD, to ensure that state criminal justice systems (which account for 90 percent of the incarcerated population) were free of racial discrimination. The report did acknowledge the dramatic, racially disparate impact of federal sentencing laws that prescribe different sentences for powder cocaine versus crack cocaine offenses, even though the two drugs are pharmacologically identical. The laws impose a mandatory five year prison sentence on anyone convicted of selling five grams or more of crack cocaine, and a ten year mandatory sentence for selling fifty grams or more. One hundred times as much powder cocaine must be sold to receive the same sentences. By setting a much lower drug-weight threshold for crack than powder cocaine, the laws resulted in substantially higher sentences for crack cocaine offenders. Although the majority of crack users were white, blacks comprised almost 90 percent of federal offenders convicted of crack offenses and hence served longer sentences for similar drug crimes than whites. While recounting the Clinton Administration's unsuccessful effort to secure a limited reform of the cocaine sentencing laws (a reform which, in any event, would still have left black drug defendants disproportionately vulnerable to higher sentences), the report did not venture an assessment of whether the current laws violate CERD. Nor did it consider whether the striking racial differences in the incarceration of drug offenders at the state level was consistent with CERD, reflecting the Administration's general reluctance to subject the U.S. war on drugs to human rights scrutiny.” http://www.hrw.org/wr2k1/usa/index.html
When we look at the policies procedures and practices of the “justice system” we see indeed it is open season on black folks; this allows police officers to be overly aggressive and violent towards black men (a long standing pattern in the US), it allows the courts and so called review boards to exonerate police who shoot, abuse and or kill black people (Diallo, Louima and Patrick Dorismond) and when we factor in the courts and the disproportionate incarceration rates of African men and women we see a clear pattern of color and class discrimination. The really sad aspect of all this is we just take it and wait for another incident, to replicate the pattern. Even the recent shooting incident in New York there was a community protest, the mayor of New York met with the slain man’s family and community representatives but nothing came of it thus far. It seems it will be business as usual; open season on black folks continues.

The Old Models Are Not Working

The Old Models Are Not Working

“But the 20th-century struggle against Fascist totalitarianism provided a new rationale for precision in constitution writing. It was not enough just to defeat the Fascist powers, America and its allies realized. It was also important to remake the political cultures that had allowed such tyrannies to arise in the first place. And that meant drafting new constitutions for the defeated nations. The question now is whether America and its allies will muster the same clarity and commitment in Iraq.” http://www.usnews.com/usnews/culture/articles/030526/26nation.htm

Following WWII the AmeriKKKans and their allies stepped in to reconstruct the governments of Germany and Japan. The Nazis fell apart following the death of Adolph Hitler and surrendered and the Japanese Emperor who was trying to find a way to end the war anyway, surrendered unconditionally after the US dropped atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki marking the official end of the war. In the aftermath of the German and Japanese surrenders and before the start of the “Cold War” the US and its allies determined to control the German and Japanese governments so they could not regroup and pose a threat to the Anglo-AmeriKKKan and Russian victors. To accomplish this the US sent in their diplomatic and military agents and wrote the constitutions for both Germany and Japan setting the tone and tenor for the types of governments they would have. “The Japanese Constitution was written in 1946 by the U.S. Occupation after imperialist Japan's surrender to try to ensure that the nation would never engage in militarist aggression. It also made the emperor a symbol of the nation, instead of the divinity who had been idolized up to then, and spelled out guarantees for basic freedoms and the civil rights of women, marking a big step toward a true democracy. Although controversy has brewed for years over whether the constitution was forced upon Japan by the Americans, many Japanese also value the pacifist Article No. 9 that forbids the country from using force to settle international disputes.” http://www.seacoastonline.com/2000news/5_2_w2.htm
Having experienced success in “nation building” in Germany (prior to the East-West split) and Japan following WWII, the US immediately ratcheted up its’ covert operations (following the creation of the CIA in 1947) to influence the governments of numerous countries around the world and create a climate favorable to the expansion and consolidation of US corporate, economic and military hegemony. Neocolonial, neoliberal puppet governments have been established, dissolved and new ones formed all over the world, ala what we see now in places like Haiti, Afghanistan and Iraq in an effort to keep Western multinational corporate interests a top priority. This model is the modern version of the British “indirect rule” model used during their colonialist and neocolonialist periods that has served the imperial interests of England for years. AmeriKKKa has employed this model with varying degrees of success and failure over the years in diverse places such as Iran, Vietnam, Liberia, the Caribbean and throughout Latin America. People and nations are creatures of habit and what we are seeing in both Afghanistan and Iraq is nothing more than the AmeriKKKan ruling elites doing the same thing over and over again, attempting to expropriate the resources of others and steal them for themselves.
The problem for the fascist oligarchy is non-European people are rebelling against the European model of forced imposition of their governmental, economic and cultural paradigms upon them. Iraq and Afghanistan are classic examples of armed resistance against US imperialism. What we are seeing in Venezuela and other parts of Latin America are examples of economic and political resistance against US hegemony. US arrogance and hubris following 9-11 have accelerated global resistance to AmeriKKKa imperialism and it concomitant agenda of globalization. The old models of European imperialism still leave a bitter taste in the mouths of non-Europeans and the urge to resist the Western model of globalization (economic neocolonialism and expropriation of resources) is fierce and passionate. “European-drawn borders have failed; European models of statehood and statecraft have failed, and, in global terms, European civilization has failed. Unable to see beyond those models, the United States fails to exert influence commensurate with its power, except in the field of popular culture (even Islamist terrorists like a good action flick). With the end of the colonial vision and the swift crack-up of postcolonial dreams--not least, of a socialist paradise--there is a worldwide vacuum of purpose that the glittering trinkets of globalization cannot fill. From the fear-mongering of our own media to the sermons of Moktada al-Sadr, the real global commonality is the dread of change. Whether in Tehran or Texas, the established orders have gone into a defensive crouch. Men dream of change, but cling to what they know. Far from teaching the workers of the world to love one another (or at least to enjoy a Starbucks together), the economic and informational effects of globalization have been to remind people how satisfying it is to hate. Whether threatened in their jobs, their moral code, or their religion, human beings dislocated by change don't want explanations. They want someone to blame.” Return of the Tribes
The resistance to globalization runs deep. by Ralph Peters http://www.weeklystandard.com/Utilities/printer_preview.asp?idArticle=12616&R=ED
The Iraqi freedom fighters attempting to oust the Anglo-AmeriKKKan occupation may lack the sophisticated weaponry of the West; but their will is indomitable, as the AmeriKKKan invaders have discovered. The old models of invasion, conquest, foisting a pliant puppet government on the indigenous people are not working and will not work in the near future. People want to be free. They want to be self-determining. We are seeing this as Nigerians in the Delta resist the encroachment of oil drilling onto their lands. We see the strong resistance of the Iraqis, Palestinians, Afghanis and Columbians against US backed corporatist take-overs. The strong talk out of Latin America from Chavez and the newly elected leaders of Chile, Bolivia and Brazil are a direct response to the anti-imperialist sentiments of the masses; the longsuffering farmers, merchants and peasants. “The current leftward surge is the product of two trends, coupled with each other. One is persistently high levels of social and economic inequality in the region. Two, steady democratisation since the eighties. The spark may lead to a wild fire in the restive Asian countries where in the absence of effective Leftist leadership, extremism and religious terrorism came to the fore.” http://www.unholywars.org/entry/latin-america-left-resurgence-and-the-us/
The arrogance and hubris of the AmeriKKKan ruling elites and their minions will be their undoing. As Iraq and Afghanistan push AmeriKKKa closer to the twin disasters of military defeat and domestic implosion, it is becoming clear to most sane people; the old models are not working. Alas even a desperation Hail Mary, the recommendations of the good ol’ boy Baker-Hamilton Iraq Study Group will not be able to prevent the ruling elites from suffering the well deserved consequences of their crass and disastrous attempts at empire.

Why The Democrats Will Not Impeach Bu$h

Why The Democrats Will Not Impeach Bu$h

"If America and Americans are to be resurrected in the eyes of the world, proper investigation of the Bush administration is a Democratic mandate. If, as I believe, incontrovertible evidence of Bush and Cheney's high crimes and misdemeanors is uncovered, impeachment proceedings should go forth. Already, prior to any Congressional investigations taking place, volumes have been written delineating the impeachable crimes of Bush and Cheney. High level symposiums have been held. Dozens of Constitutional scholars have spoken, all convinced of their guilt.” Linda Milazzo: "Americans Can't Handle Another Impeachment" Is Republican Propaganda. Don't Be Deceived. http://www.opednews.com/maxwrite/showsubjects.php?tid=/Impeachment

Even before the votes were officially counted (the crooks and criminals in the Bu$h-Cheney cabal had attempted to rig this election too but to no avail) Nancy Pelosi the Democratic House Minority Leader emphatically stated in an interview on national television, “impeachment is off the table.” Her statement allayed the fears of the ruling elites, her statement said in effect Democrats would not seek justice and the populous’ angst and intolerance of the Bu$h-Cheney cabal’s malfeasance and assorted criminal activities would continue to be frustrated for two more years. Her statement sends a clear message she has prostituted herself one more time; that she has no intention of renouncing her role as the good lapdog eager to do the plutocrats bidding. There are people who thought John Conyers the man slated to be chairman of the House Judiciary Committee would press for investigations and impeachment proceedings against Bu$h. Conyers had promised he would and even posted it on his Congressional Website weeks before the election. Alas Pelosi and Co. got to him and he has since tucked his tail between his legs and limped off in feeble lockstep with Pelosi and the rest of the sell outs.
The Democrats, unless they are cajoled, pressured, harassed or threatened with being voted out of office in 2008 will not initiate impeachment proceedings against George W Bu$h. Why? Because to do so would expose the AmeriKKKan system to all the world and allow us to see how corrupt, morally bankrupt, ruthless and vicious it is and has been for years. There is ample evidence for anyone willing to see it, to begin investigations to prove Bu$h and Co have committed treasonous acts: violating their oath to defend and protect the US Constitution, knowingly and willingly breaking international laws and if we really went after the truth; discover they (at very least) knowingly allowed 9-11 to happen!!! If the US political system were honest and transparent, (which it isn't) the incoming Congress would do its’ due diligence and assert its’ Constitutionally granted authority to impeach George W.Bu$h and send him to the US Senate for trial where he could be tried for: lying to Congress about WMD in Iraq, circumventing US laws by spying on US citizens without warrant or probable cause, for violating the separation of powers, promoting the violation of long standing international laws, encouraging influence peddling and corruption (Jack Abramoff, Halliburton, Bechtel etc.) and failing to defend and protect the nation (9-11, Katrina etc). Most experts feel Congress could make a sound case for Bu$h to be removed from office setting the stage for him to be subsequently tried as the war criminal he is!
But that is not going to happen. The Democrats have no intention of doing the right thing. The reasons being bantered about in the corporate mind control apparatus for not impeaching Bu$h are utter nonsense. They are shams and inane reasons to maintain the status quo. AmeriKKKan’s frustrated by the way Bu$h and the NeoCons are destroying the nation by exacerbating class warfare and furthering the accumulation of wealth in the hands of a relative few, by bankrupting the treasury with massive tax cuts which only benefit the super rich, piling onerous debt on future generations and waging illegal and immoral preemptive wars; thought by voting the vile Republicans out of office, the course of AmeriKKKan foreign and domestic policy would change. But mere days after the 2006 election even Ray Charles who is both blind and dead could see this is not the case. The Democrats who for six years assumed a supine, go along posture are still not willing to straighten their backs, get some gristle in their spines, assert real moral and visionary leadership and stand up for what is right. That doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon; if ever. So don’t look for the incoming Democrats nor the Republicans who survived the recent landslide to do much different in the way of altering the way Congress does its’ business. Already the incoming Democratic “leadership” has bent over backwards to assure the Bu$h cabal they will not make waves. They’ve made it quite plain they will go along with perpetual war, they will facilitate the continued imposition of a police state under the guise of “national security” and they will ignore the wishes of the AmeriKKKan people for peace and justice! It will be business as usual only with a Democratic twist, a kindler, gentler less arrogant fascist police state; if you will. Business as usual means the special interests and lobbyists will still rule supreme. Business as usual means Congressional favors/perks, side deals, corruption, set ups and white mail will remain the order of the day.
The AmeriKKKa political system is thoroughly corrupt. Sadly Joe and Jane Sixpack are in total denial about this and refuse to admit to this reality. Alas the black elites have bought into this corrupt system lock stock and barrel. The so called progressive and radical factions are impotent and disorganized while the masses are being duped continuously by the corporate owned media. The ruling elites who run the nation (the ones who own the private banks, the major defense contractors, and who head the multinational corporations etc) will do any and everything to maintain the status quo. The only way Bu$h will be impeached, aside from an awakened, energized and unified AmeriKKKan citizenry storming Congress and demanding it be done, (which is unlikely) is if it suites the ruling elite agenda to do so. At this point in time it does not.

Make Today A Day of Reflection and Meditation

Make Today A Day of Reflection and Meditation

“Europeans have always had a double standard as to what constituted a theft. History has shown us that whenever Europeans came into contact with people of color they had no scruples about taking their land, their resources or the body and soul of the indigenous inhabitants themselves. These demon like intruders through their land grabbing thievery and inhuman barbarity have been responsible for the destruction of some of the most beautiful and enlightened civilizations the world has ever known.” Ishakamusa Barashango AfriKan People and European Holidays: A Mental Genocide page 13.

Today all over AmeriKKKa folks are preparing to gorge themselves on food, drink themselves silly swigging all types of beverages, while sitting around the television watching irrelevant sporting activities all day, unconsciously “celebrating” the barbarity, ingratitude and larceny of the English settlers of North America; the place the indigenous inhabitants called /Turtle Island/. The irony is the Europeans (barbarians) have the audacity to call this a “holiday” and to call it thanksgiving; meaning the whites are thankful the indigenous inhabitants of this continent weren’t like them, xenophobic, amoral cannibals who had no qualms about transporting their cultural values of theft, murder and incessant war everywhere they went on planet earth.
In AmeriKKKa by custom and legislative decree the fourth Thursday of November is called Thanksgiving. It is a day set aside supposedly for “prayer and thanksgiving to Almighty God” a day to be thankful for the manifold blessings and bounty we experience. Of course most thinking people have by now concluded the Anglo Saxon branch of Indo-Europeans have a much different notion about god, prayer, thanksgiving and morality than richly melanin endowed aboriginal peoples. If we are keen enough we can see the ancient Indo-European tradition of pillage, plunder, social and ecological disruption is still going strong! In their own bizarre way, modern AmeriKKKan culture clings tenaciously to the long standing psychological traditions of debauchery, gluttony, warmongering and bloodlust the Pilgrims, their Anglo Saxon and Aryan ancestors passed on to them. We see it in their dealings around the world; it is especially obvious now in places like Haiti, Afghanistan and Iraq.
For most of us today is a day off, a “holiday”, a day of Thanksgiving. Let us pause and take advantage of this opportunity to think, reflect and meditate on the psychology, history and behavior of our oppressors and ask ourselves, do we want to buy into and internalize their psychology and lifestyles? What lessons from their and our past can we glean, learn and apply to our present reality? Do we want to go down in history as celebrants and keepers of a tradition such as this, “The early American whites were…as cruel. Connecticut whites massacred the Pequot Indians. Infants were torn from their mothers’ breasts and hacked to pieces. The heads of the parents were chopped off and kicked about in the streets. Governor Bradford wrote, ‘It was a fearful sight to see them frying in the fire and streams of blood quenching the same and terrible was the stench and stink thereof. But the victory seemed a sweet sacrifice and they (the whites) gave praise thereof to God.’” Afrikan People and European Holidays: A Mental Genocide page 16.
Is there a connection between that type of behavior and public policy and what we see AmeriKKKa doing around the world today? Do we want to be a part of that? The story is told about Henry David Thoreau who in an act of conscience and civil disobedience refused to pay his taxes in protest against the Indian Removal Act of 1830 was put in jail. His friend Ralph Waldo Emerson came to visit him. Emerson seeing his friend behind bars exclaimed, “Henry what are you doing in there?” Thoreau calmly responded to his buddy, “Ralph what are you doing out there?” Most people think Martin Luther King Jr. patterned his strategy of civil disobedience after Mahatma Gandhi’s successful struggles to end British imperialism in India. He did, but he also patterned his philosophy and strategy of deliberate and intentional civil disobedience after Henry David Thoreau’s courageous stand against the AmeriKKKan government’s policy of genocide against the Native Americans. At some point people of conscious and conscience like Thoreau, Gandhi and King must say enough is enough. We have to be willing to do more than just write about wrongs, we have to right them; first in out own mind and lives; then through our actions in the community and world.
Take time during this day to stop, shut out the noise and clamor of the world and think about the state of our world. Ask yourself, “What can I do to make it better”? Ask yourself, “What little, small yet significant thoughts can I think that will make things better”? What words can I utter to bring peace, sanity and civility to a world torn by strife, fear and hatred? What actions can I take that will demonstrate emotional maturity, higher consciousness and reflect my overstanding of spiritual laws and principles? Ask, then wait expectantly for an answer. It may come in the silence; a still small voice may tell you exactly what you need to do at exactly the right time. It may come in a dream or vision where you see yourself doing good, being a light and example for others to follow. It may come in the form of an inner prompting or an urge out of the blue to do something good and unsolicited for someone. The answer will come; when it does make sure you follow the instructions exactly, do whatever your higher self tells you to do. When you do, it will be the beginning of the changes this world so desperately needs. Peace.

The Great Betrayal Begins

The Great Betrayal Begins

“WASHINGTON -- Americans would have to sign up for a new military draft after turning 18 if the incoming chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee has his way.Rep. Charles Rangel , D-N.Y., said Sunday he sees his idea as a way to deter politicians from launching wars and to bolster U.S. troop levels insufficient to cover potential future action in Iran, North Korea and Iraq…Rangel, the next chairman of the House tax-writing committee, said he worried the military was being strained by its overseas commitments. ‘If we're going to challenge Iran and challenge North Korea and then, as some people have asked, to send more troops to Iraq, we can't do that without a draft,’ Rangel said. He said having a draft would not necessarily mean everyone called to duty would have to serve. Instead, ‘young people (would) commit themselves to a couple of years in service to this great republic, whether it's our seaports, our airports, in schools, in hospitals,’ with a promise of educational benefits at the end of service.” /http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/19/AR2006111900376.html

The dust has barely settled following the mid term elections and the Democrats who rode to victory on the anti-war, anti-corruption sentiments, and massive intolerance of the Bu$h administration’s warmongering have sold us out already! Not two weeks after the Democrats who for six years spinelessly went along with all of Bu$h’s plans for perpetual war took control of both houses of Congress, they showed their true colors. Last week they rejected John Murtha as their majority leader. Murtha is a man who sees the wreckage Bu$h’s imperialist policies have caused the US military, but the Democratic caucus chose instead a man who has never voted against US military action during his tenure in the Congress. A Washington Post article dated November 19, 2006 reveals Charles Rangel a House Negro who introduced a bill: H. R. 4752 which calls for mandatory service either in the active or reserve military or community service, “to provide for the common defense by requiring all persons in the United States, including women, between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes.”; plans to push for action on his bill in early 2007.
The Democrats have betrayed their core constituents and the people who held their noses to prevent themselves from gagging while they voted for them because thought the Democrats would “take the country in a new direction”. For most, anything even the morally challenged Democrats were preferable to the Bu$h agenda of perpetual war and unilateral imperialism. It appears we have been duped and betrayed again as the Democrats rushed to make nice with Bu$h and are falling over themselves for the privilege of continuing his failed policies of unilateral war and fiscal insanity. The Democrats knew all along they were going to reinstate the draft. That’s what John Kerry was talking about when he made is “joke” about failing in school and ending up in Iraq just prior to the election. The reason the Republicans and his Democratic colleagues pounced on him was because they thought he had inadvertently spilled the beans on their plot to spill more blood by reinstating a military draft! Both sides quickly scrambled to use the corporate media mind control apparatus to obfuscate Kerry’s real meaning and prevent folks from discerning their plans. Obviously now the Democrats feel it is safe to initiate their plans once a new Congress is sworn in.
Leave it to a House Negro like Charles Rangel; the man who was used to unseat the legendary Adam Clayton Powell, to allow himself to be pimped time and again by the ruling oligarchy. Rangel in his exuberance to be used by global white supremacy was the only sponsor to introduce legislation to resurrect a military draft. He had the gall to introduce H.R. 4752 under the pretext of preventing the US military from being over-extended in wars around the world.!? The Washington Post article chronicled Rangel’s tenacity, “Rangel, a veteran of the Korean War who has unsuccessfully sponsored legislation on conscription in the past, said he will propose a measure early next year. In 2003, he proposed a measure covering people age 18 to 26. This year, he offered a plan to mandate military service for men and women between age 18 and 42; it went nowhere in the Republican-led Congress. Democrats will control the House and Senate come January because of their victories in the Nov. 7 election. At a time when some lawmakers are urging the military to send more troops to Iraq, ‘I don't see how anyone can support the war and not support the draft,’ said Rangel, who also proposed a draft in January 2003, before the U.S. invasion of Iraq.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/19/AR2006111900376.html It is clear by his efforts to reinstate the draft, Rangel supports imperialist wars, wanton death and destruction. What happened to following the will of the people who clearly don’t approve of the occupation of Iraq?! Who exactly are Rangel and Co. listening to? Whose orders and agenda are they following? Rangel, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the pawns, crooks and warmongers in Congress don't t even pretend they were listening to all the people who voted for them to stop the carnage and bring the troops home. They immediately ran to embrace Bu$h and pledge fidelity to his disastrous occupation and bloodletting in Iraq and other places around the world. There is an obvious disconnect between career politicians and the people. They are not taking their orders from the AmeriKKKan people who desperately want the government to extricate the troops from this no win situation. What is it about the quaint notion of peace Rangel and Pelosi don’t seem to grasp or understand? Why do they think they have to go along with the insane NeoCon notion AmeriKKKa should have free reign to go around the world imposing its’ brand of “democracy” and “regime change” at the point of a gun, through missiles or smart bombs?
What kind of logic is this? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over with the same people expecting things to turn out differently. The way to solve the military’s problem is to bring the troops home, vacate Iraq and Afghanistan, rebuild their nation and allow them to live their lives unencumbered and free of AmeriKKKan intervention. But no, the Democrats want to try their hands at imperialist empire. I suspect their strings are being pulled by the Zionist lobby and the military industrial complex that paid for their campaigns. That’s why the Democrats had to get rid of Cynthia McKinney because they knew she would never sit back and go for anything like that. Unlike McKinney who was the people’s champion, Charlie Rangel is a handkerchief head Negro operating for the benefit of global white supremacy and his own pocket. He and the rest of the Democratic warmongers have betrayed the peace movement and the people who voted for them.
Often the ruling elites float trial balloons merely to test the reaction of the masses so they can gauge public sentiment and subsequently plot their nefarious agenda. Peace loving folks should picket Rangel’s office; swamp him with letters, E-mails and faxes showing him just how displeased we are with him. We should let Rangel, Pelosi and the rest of the warmongers know their days are numbered.

Business Goes On As Usual

Business Goes On As Usual

“In that sense, the outcome of the 2006 elections is pre-ordained. Top Democratic Party officials moved systematically, after their defeat in the 2004 presidential election, to recruit candidates committed to more openly right-wing policies on social and political issues: opponents of abortion and gay rights, advocates of fiscal austerity and intensified domestic repression in the name of the “war on terror,” open defenders of militarism and war. The result is that if a massive antiwar and anti-Bush vote does place the Democratic Party in control of Congress, the new congressmen and senators will be supporters of the war in Iraq, advocates of budget-cutting rather than any expansion of social services, and sympathetic to the reactionary views of the Christian fundamentalists who dominate the Republican Party.” http://www.wsws.org/articles/2006/nov2006/elec-n07.shtml

The Democrats riding the wave of massive discontent with the Bu$h administration and their fascist policies and the out and out rejection of perpetual war swept both the Congress and US Senate promising to “take the country in a new direction”. Alas it seems the Democrats have revealed themselves to be merely the flip side of the same policy coin. For the hapless, frustrated and naïve AmeriKKKan voters who held their noses and voted for the Democrats it is a clear case of being duped and hoodwinked one more time. On Thursday the Democratic caucus chose their leadership electing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House and Steny Hoyer as majority leader. The AmeriKKKan people lost big time or more correctly were sold out big time by the Democrats. After staging a dog and pony show about nominating John Murtha a prime critic of the Iraq war and a man who openly calls for a timely withdrawal of AmeriKKKan forces from the Mesopotamian quagmire as Majority Leader, the Democrats promptly rebuffed Murtha’s supposed patron Nancy Pelosi and instead chose Steny Hoyer of Maryland a cold blooded warmonger who has not seen fit to vote against any AmeriKKKan imperialist military action during his tenure as a congressman; ever! Hoyer is a staunch supporter of Bu$h’s bogus war on terror; meaning he sides with the fascists and warmongers.

So much for change! Don’t expect this upcoming Congress to do anything to reward the anti-war sentiment that swept them into office! In fact the Democrats make no bones about the fact they will shuffle to the tune of the big defense contractors, the corporations and the Zionist lobby that funded their campaigns just as the Republicans did. An anti-war former military man who sees the dangers and folly of the Iraq occupation got kicked to the curb and a warmonger gets elected second in command in the Democratic caucus?! “Arrayed against Murtha was a united front of the Democratic Party establishment, from a George Soros-backed "liberal" consumer-complainer group to an anonymously run YouDontKnowJack.org, featuring replays of the infamous Abscam tapes. In the video, Murtha rejects an offer of a bribe while FBI agents disguised as wealthy Arabs – the Borat-style mustaches are a riot – try to lure him into a compromising position, without much success. Murtha was completely exonerated in a subsequent investigation – but that didn't stop the smear brigade from surfacing this age-old sludge…The Great Realignment of 2006 lasted a little over a week before it turned into the Great Sellout. It is a perfect illustration of how the War Party controls the leadership of both major parties and maintains its grip on the levers of power. Given near-monopoly status on account of repressive ballot access laws in most states, the parties can thwart the popular will. Given a mandate for peace, the Democratic Party leadership has effectively rejected it and reversed the election results. Americans voted for peace, and they're going to get more war.” The Mugging of Murtha Congressional Democrats Betray the Antiwar Movement Justin Raimondo http://antiwar.com/justin/ The Democratic leadership sold its anti-war constituency out again. The honeymoon with the AmeriKKKan voters appears to be over quickly and irreconcilable differences now loom on the horizon.

Now that the mid-term elections are history, it’s back to business as usual with the corporate media mind control apparatus beating the drums for continued carnage, corruption and waste in Iraq. The American media establishment has launched a major offensive against the option of withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq. In the latest media assault, right-wing outfits like Fox News and the Wall Street Journal editorial page are secondary. The heaviest firepower is now coming from the most valuable square inches of media real estate in the USA – the front page of the New York Times. The present situation is grimly instructive for anyone who might wonder how the Vietnam War could continue for years while opinion polls showed that most Americans were against it. Now, in the wake of midterm elections widely seen as a rebuke to the Iraq war, powerful media institutions are feverishly spinning against a pullout of U.S. troops. Under the headline ‘Get Out of Iraq Now? Not So Fast, Experts Say,’ the Nov. 15 front page of the New York Times prominently featured a ‘Military Analysis’ by Michael Gordon. The piece reported that – while some congressional Democrats are saying withdrawal of U.S. troops ‘should begin within four to six months’ – ‘this argument is being challenged by a number of military officers, experts, and former generals, including some who have been among the most vehement critics of the Bush administration's Iraq policies.’ ” http://www.antiwar.com/solomon/?articleid=10024

The ruling plutocrats are pulling out all the stops to prevent their puppets in Congress from thwarting their imperialist agenda or doing anything they don’t approve of; like ending the carnage in Iraq. Obviously they have instructed the corporate media to spin the notion withdrawing AmeriKKKan troops and ending the war is unwise. This tactic is an exact replay of how the establishment media went along with the military industrial complex’ tales the Vietnam War was winnable as long as AmeriKKKan military stayed the course. “Contrary to myths about media coverage of the Vietnam War, the American press lagged way behind grassroots antiwar sentiment in seriously contemplating a U.S. pullout from Vietnam. The lag time amounted to several years – and meant the additional deaths of tens of thousands of Americans and perhaps 1 million more Vietnamese people. A survey by the Boston Globe, conducted in February 1968, found that out of 39 major daily newspapers in the United States, not one had editorialized for withdrawing American troops from Vietnam. Today – despite the antiwar tilt of national opinion polls and the recent election – advocacy of a U.S. pullout from Iraq seems almost as scarce among modern-day media elites.” ibid

The con game continues this time with the Democrats serving as shills for the establishment oligarchy. The twelve step program’s definition of insanity is doing he same thing over and over with the same people expecting things to turn out differently. If we want peace we will have to do things differently. We cannot depend upon the politicians to do it for us. Selective patronage, economic boycotts and massive civil disobedience are the only ways the plutocrats will take notice and be forced to alter their policies. Anything else is business as usual.

Oil Drives The West's Push To Destabilize East Africa

Oil Drives The West’s Push To Destabilize East Africa

“The mass media in the U.S., France and Britain are writing a great deal about the suffering in the Darfur region of western Sudan and the tensions between the Sudanese government and neighboring Chad. Not surprisingly, they write very little about the economic interests these three imperialist countries have in the oil recently discovered in this part of Africa. Chad, which was once a French colony and still is occupied by French troops, is accusing Sudan of supporting and encouraging an April 14 raid on its capital, Ndjamena. It is threatening to expel 200,000 Sudanese living in Chad who get their support from the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Sudan—which at one time was a British colony, but has since been using its oil to develop an independent economy—charges that Chad has been supporting rebellion in Darfur. Sudan wants the UNHCR to financially support the 15,000 Chadians who have fled to Sudan recently to escape heavy fighting in eastern Chad.”

The Western mind control apparatus is in high gear attempting to brainwash the masses to continue believing the European mantra Africa is a place of disarray and chaos due to African tribalism, ethnic infighting, corruption and mismanagement. Almost all depictions of Africa in the Western media show famine, poverty, disease, war ravaged scenes, AIDS and starvation. Rarely if ever, do the sound bytes and snippets even pretend to go behind the scenes to examine the impact of Neo-liberal imperialism and neocolonialist machinations of the West. For example East Africa is in the news quite a bit these days; Sudan, Chad and Somalia are all experiencing conflicts and social disruption. But what is not being reported, shown or explained is the West (AmeriKKKa and its’ European cousins including Israel) are funding, arming and instigating the carnage throughout the region. “After Sudan achieved its formal independence from Britain in 1956, the country went through a period of internal struggles. Beginning in the 1970s Sudan began moving in a radical Islamic direction, rejecting the neocolonial relations that the United States and other European powers wanted to impose. A well-organized and well-financed rebellion in southern Sudan began soon after. The United States supported the south financially, politically and militarily in order to divide and conquer. By tightening an economic embargo on the Sudanese government, the U.S. could also exert economic pressure. Washington even went so far as military attacks, like the cruise missile strike in 1998 that blew up the only pharmaceutical plant in Sudan. No proof was ever offered to back up the imperialist pretext that the plant manufactured chemical weapons, or that Sudan was somehow connected to terrorist bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. A delegation led by former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark of the International Action Center visited the ruins of the plant and confirmed that it had simply been making medicines.” What Imperialists Don’t Say: Oil Is Behind Struggle in Darfur http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/issues/sudan/2006/0427imperialists.htm

Why you ask are whites instigating, funding and arming numerous factions to foment strife and wars in developing countries that have no connection to the West other than being former colonies? The answer is simple. The West covets what lies beneath the surface in these regions, diamonds, gold, uranium, manganese, but more importantly crude oil (black gold) natural gas and in the case of Israel water! “The link between Tel Aviv and Addis Ababa has been seen by the West primarily as an arms-for-immigrants trade-off, in which Ethiopia gets arms for its fight against Eritrean separatists and Tigrean insurgents. In exchange, Addis Ababa has reportedly agreed to allow an estimated 15,000 Jews remaining in Ethiopia to emigrate to Israel. But according to widespread reports in the Arab press, the real reason behind Israel's involvement in Ethiopia is to establish a foothold in its decades-old push for access to the Nile. Salem Nassar wrote in the July 1990 issue of the Paris-based Ab Dawliyeh International that Israel has supplied Ethiopia with technology and expertise for plans to dam the Blue Nile, a major tributary to the Nile.” http://www.wrmea.com/backissues/0791/9107026.htm

The troubles throughout East Africa have their roots in white designs on the mineral resources within the region. The countries in the news now like Sudan, Chad and Somalia are at an epicenter of Western imperialist cunning and maneuvering. The whites are exploiting territorial, ethnic and religious differences (that in many instances the Europeans created) to achieve several long standing goals, depopulation, social displacement and controlling and expropriation of the regions natural resources. “Once the rebellion in Darfur began, the Sudanese government set up counter-militias, called Jinjaweed, recruited from nomadic ethnic groups in Darfur who mainly speak Arabic. The Sudanese Liberation Army and the Movement for Justice and Equality recruited from ethnic groups in Darfur who don’t use Arabic. The U.S. government, among others, is trying to exacerbate these differences by defining this conflict as between 'Arab vs. black.' Washington has accused Sudan of 'genocide' and 'ethnic cleansing.' However, Paul Moorcraft, a British expert on Sudan, points out, ‘Darfur’s Arabs are black, indigenous African Muslims—just like Darfur’s non-Arabs.’ The African Union has 7,000 troops in Darfur trying to keep the peace. But the imperialist powers want more direct control by replacing the African Union forces with either NATO or UN troops in order to further imperialist interests in the region and to deny the Sudanese control over their own territory.” http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/issues/sudan/2006/0427imperialists.htm

The same thing is going on in Somalia but in that case religion and "terrorism" rather than ethnic differences are the pretexts used by the West (and their proxies in the region) as an excuse to intervene and gain a foothold in the region to steal that nation’s resources and control its’ territory. “The recent fighting in Mogadishu between Islamic Courts Union (ICU) forces and the now defunct Alliance for the Restoration of Peace and Counter-Terrorism (ARPCT), reportedly formed in February 2006, further complicates the political crisis in Somalia, but also represents an important shift in the balance of power in Mogadishu. The so-called Alliance was the creation of well-known warlords in Mogadishu who have been the main source of instability and violence in Somalia. These warlords include Muse Sudi Yalahow, Mohammed Qanyere Afrah, and Omar Finnish. The recent crisis received unusual international attention in large part due to reported U.S. support for the so-called anti-terror Alliance. The American decision to support the Alliance seems largely driven by longstanding concerns that terrorist individuals and groups have used and continue to use Somalia as transit and a place to hide. Some of the ICU leaders are seen by U.S. officials as being extremists or terrorists. The newly elected leader of the Council of Islamic Courts, Hasan Dahir Aweys, was one of the top leaders of Al-Ittihad and was designated as a terrorist by the Bush Administration. Aweys is dismissive of his designation as a terrorist and contends he is being targeted because of his religion. In a recent interview, Aweys stated that ‘if strictly following my religion and love for Islam makes me a terrorist, then I will accept the designation.’ Sharif Sheik Ahmed, the leader of the Islamic Courts Union, was appointed chairman of the Council’s Executive Committee and is expected to lead the day-to-day affairs of the Courts. A number of key players in the Islamic Courts Union were named to key positions, including Omar Imam Abubakar and Abdullahi Ali Afrah. Mr. Muhamoud Sheikh Ibrahim Suleh, a man who reportedly declared a 'jihad' against the warlords, was named Secretary General. Some observers have expressed concern that the election of Aweys may push the organization toward a more radical position. The forces of the Islamic Courts Union expanded areas under their control after the defeat of the warlords in Mogadishu. ICU forces captured the towns of Jowhar and Beledweyne in mid-June 2006. Moreover, for the first time in years, Mogadishu appears relatively peaceful and the Islamic Courts Union seems to have the support of the population in areas it controls. The level of support enjoyed by the ICU is difficult to measure, although the group seems to consist of constituencies from multiple sub-clans and appears to have broad support among Somali women. During the Mogadishu fighting, women supporters of ICU played an important role. The ICU success in Mogadishu effectively led to the collapse of the ARPCT and forced the warlords to flee or join the ICU.” Somalia: Expanding Crisis in the Horn of Africa Testimony by Ted Dagne, Congressional Research Service Before the Subcommittee on Africa, Global Human Rights and International Operations and the Subcommittee on International Terrorism and Nonproliferation June 29, 2006 Washington, D.C. http://www.internationalrelations.house.gov/109/dag062906.pdf

In Chad the World Bank, IMF and other loan sharking agencies have put the country in a lurch and are part of a one-two punch along with “diplomacy” designed to both steal the nation’s resources and put undue influence on the government. “The World Bank has forced a deal on Chad that restricts how that country can spend its oil revenue and that limits its oil income per barrel to $10 to $15 less than world market prices. (Jeune Afrique, April 16-22) Opposition to the World Bank oil deal is growing in Chad. And many Chadians also resent the fact that French soldiers are still guarding government buildings 45 years after independence. The U.S. want to get President Déby out and a new president in who relies on it, not France. The very day of the attack on Ndjamena, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick called on Chad to adopt a ‘different political process’ and to reach a ‘satisfactory arrangement’ with the political opposition. Undersecretary of State for African Affairs Donald Yamamoto began a two-day visit there on April 24”. http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/issues/sudan/2006/0427imperialists.htm

Unfortunately for the West other factors have recently come onto the scene to provide assistance and support. China is a big player in Sudan as well as other African nations offering aid and deals for Sudan’s oil and natural gas and is partnering with them to help build the Sudanese economy in ways the West would never do. “Despite the image of Sudan as a land of cracked earth and starving people, the economy is booming, with little help from the West. Oil has turned it into one of the fastest growing economies in Africa — if not the world — emboldening the nation’s already belligerent government and giving it the wherewithal to resist Western demands to end the conflict in Darfur. American sanctions have kept many companies from Europe and the United States out of Sudan, but firms from China, Malaysia, India, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates are racing in. Direct foreign investment has shot up to $2.3 billion this year, from $128 million in 2000, all while the American government has tried to tighten the screws. ‘Khartoum is hot — in all ways,’ said Hashim Wahir, chairman of Petronas Sudan, a branch of the Malaysian national oil company. It was 115 degrees outside, but Mr. Wahir was also talking about business. As long as Asian countries are eager to trade with Sudan, despite its human rights record, the American embargo seems to have minimal effect. The country’s president, Omar Hassan al-Bashir, keeps demonstrating his disdain for the West by refusing to allow United Nations peacekeepers into Darfur, despite continued bloodshed and pressure from the United States to let the peacekeepers in. ‘The government knows it doesn’t need America,’ said Abda Yahia el-Mahdi, a former finance minister, now in private consulting. ‘The only people who are being hurt by the sanctions are the Americans, who are missing out on this huge boom.’” War in Sudan? Not Where the Oil Wealth Flows By Jeffrey Gettleman New York Times October 24, 2006

So don’t go for the okey-doke there is much political and economic intrigue going on all over Africa; especially East Africa. The West is up to its’ old tricks and is behind the scenes trying to use their age old stratagem “divide and rule” to get what they want; control of the natural resources, the governments and the people. Of course in this equation if AmeriKKKa and the West get what they want, the people of Africa; our brothers and sisters will lose.

Reflections On Recent Events

Reflections

“The Democrats have swept the House and the Senate may well follow but did 7/11 really herald the defeat of the Neo-Con agenda or will establishment sycophants like Nancy Pelosi hijack and misdirect legitimate discontent and shield Bush from impeachment while blocking efforts to repeal legislation he passed?Pelosi is widely tipped to become speaker of the house but she is already on the record as saying that no impeachment proceedings against President Bush, whether it be for deliberately lying a nation into war or being complicit in 9/11, will take place. ‘Impeachment is off the table....it's a pledge....it is a waste of time,’ Pelosi told 60 Minutes recently.” http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/november2006/081106newboss.htm

On November 7th the AmeriKKKan people overwhelmingly and resoundingly handed George W Bu$h a belated pink slip. Unfortunately it was two years too late. The landslide thumping (to use Bu$h’s own words) of the NeoCon Republicans actually happened in 2004 but Republican trickery, Karl Rove’s shenanigans and election fraud stole that election thus overturning the will of the people. But this time the people came out in mass and with a lot of help from the ruling elite faction who staged a coup of its own in an effort to reign in the NeoConcrazies and send them packing. Insider revelations about Bu$h administration foreknowledge of 9-11, a plethora of Republican scandals that exposed long standing perversion and corruption and ample warnings of potential vote fraud helped undermine the Republican base and prevent a repeat of 2004. That’s the good news. The bad news is the establishment Democratic leadership has already announced it has no intention of doing the right thing; bringing George W Bu$h and the rest of the NeoCon warmongers and liars to justice. However itis still not too late to inundate Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and the National Democratic leadership with E-mails, telegrams, faxes and phone calls demanding they begin investigations and impeachment proceedings against the Bu$h-Cheney criminal cabal. If they don’t respond in the affirmative, you will know exactly where they stand and we will have an opportunity to vote them out of office in 2008!

* * *

Was John Kerry’s comment about students who don’t do well in school ending up in Iraq a poorly articulated joke or was it a Freudian slip? Keep in mind there is a bill pending in Congress; H.R. 4752 entitled the Universal National Service Act of 2006 that was introduced by handkerchief head Negro Congressman Charles Rangel (his bill has no co-sponsors) that supposedly provides for “the common defense by requiring all persons in the United States, including women, between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes.” Does John Kerry know something the rest of us peons don’t? Are they planning to revive a military draft to allow the warmongers and imperialist fascists to continue their looting and pillage of the globe? Rangel's bill mandates all US citizens between the ages of 18 and 42 must serve two years of either active or reserve duty or community service. Go to http://www.govtrack.us/data/us/bills.text/109/h/h4752.pdf and download or read a copy of Rangel's bill. Notice the emphasis on the President deciding who will do the military (active and reserve duty) and who will do the community service. There is no doubt in my mind the rich white kids will be the ones who do the community service and the black and brown residents of the barrios and ghettos of AmeriKKKa will be the ones doing the grunt work in Iraq and Afghanistan. Is this is what John Kerry was really talking about two weeks ago? Rangel’s bill is currently in these committees: House Armed Service and House Armed Service Subcommittee on Military Personnel. Keep your eyes on this and pass this information along to everyone you know.

Black folks have stopped signing up for Bu$h’s wars for oil and dollar hegemony. Black enlistment in the all volunteer military has dropped precipitously since the Iraqis mounted a massive resistance campaign to Bu$h’s ill fated and immoral invasion of their country. Rangels’ bill may prove to be the kiss of death for many black young people both male and female as it will make it mandatory they serve some form of military or community service. How ironic an establishment House Negro like Rangel could turn out to be the catalyst for providing cannon fodder for psychopathic warmongers and imperialists like Bu$h and Pelosi, that is unless the people unite, galvanize mobilize and put a stop to their shenanigans.

Who Really Won?

Who Really Won?

“ In the 2000 election, it was only through a combination of Jim Crow vote suppression tactics and a rich array of different methods of vote-count fraud that George W. Bush was able to arrive at a point at which his father’s Supreme Court appointees could push through what has been appropriately described as a judicial coup d’état. His party won control of the Senate in 2002 through what was almost certainly vote-tabulation fraud.3 The 2004 presidential election was marked by fraud on a gigantic scale, not just in Ohio, which ended up being the deciding state, but in many other states as well: by January 2005 there was compelling evidence to show that had the votes been honestly counted, John Kerry would have defeated Bush by a commanding margin. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=KEE20061104&articleId=3700

As the votes are being tabulated and counted it appears the Democrats have now taken over the House of representatives and may if they win the two states still being contested also capture the US Senate. The AmeriKKKan people so it seems have spoken and with one voice they have loudly and soundly repudiated the Bu$h administration. The day after the elections the corporate media is reporting Donald Rumsfeld has tendered his resignation and Bu$h accepted it. “WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, the controversial face of U.S. war policy, quit on Wednesday after Democrats rode Americans' anger and frustration over Iraq to victory in Tuesday's congressional elections. President George W. Bush said Iraq policy was "not working well enough, fast enough," and that he agreed with his top war manager that it was time for a change. Former CIA Director Robert Gates, a member of the bipartisan Iraq Study Group assessing alternative strategies for Iraq and president of Texas A&M University, will replace Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld remained in his job on Wednesday and it was not clear when he would leave.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/08/AR2006110801381.html So the day after his imperialist policies were resoundingly repudiated Bu$h accepted the resignation of his embattled Secretary of Defense. What does this mean? Did the anti-war movement score an important victory or is this merely a short term move to help Bu$h save his ass?

Were these developments a result of yesterday’s elections and do they signal a shift in policy from an administration that has up to now remained recalcitrant in its’ unwillingness to face reality, take responsibility for the illegality and immorality of its’ invasion and occupation of Iraq; a nation that posed no threat or danger to the United States or its immediate neighbors or listen to the people? What if the 2004 election had not been stolen or for that matter what if the 2000 election had not been pilfered; imagine the state the world would be in now? Or imagine what would have happened if the Bu$h administration had just been alert and vigilant enough to act seriously and swiftly on the many warnings they received from numerous sources about the pending “attacks” (which were financed by elements within US ally nations Saudi Arabia and Pakistan) that took place on 9-11? What if Congress had stood up and opposed Bu$h’s reasons for his ill fated invasion of Iraq? None of that happened and we have almost 3,000 US soldiers dead, twenty thousand maimed and crippled for a lie and over 600,000 innocent Iraqis killed to enrich Bechtel, Halliburton, the Carlyle Group and Bu$h’s other corporate cronies !

Bu$h sensing a turning point is scrambling to save himself from the wrath of the AmeriKKKan people. Despite the fact the Democrats won, will there be real change in domestic or foreign policies? Do the Democrats have enough guts to chart a clear course away from the one favored by the fascist corporate heads, the NeoCons or the Zionist lobby? I doubt it. Nancy Pelosi has already indicated the Democrats will not seek to impeach or punish the Bu$h criminal cabal. This by itself should be a telltale sign the fix was in, deals were made and business will go on as usual! Why aren’t people calling Pelosi on her promise, challenging her to do the right thing and prosecute Bu$h for his war crimes?! Why aren’t there mass demonstrations or massive anti-war and impeachment rallies taking place outside her office and the offices of the Democratic National Committee as we speak?

Who really won on Tuesday? Did the AmeriKKKan people win; or was the election a con game where the ruling elites merely shuffled the shells to hide the prized pea (the real control of the nation) from the suckers to make us think we actually accomplished something? Ask yourself, why all of a sudden did the same corporate media that was so protective of George W Bu$h turn on him? Why did the same media that has known for years about Republican Congressman Mark Foley being a closet homosexual and an open pedophile expose him and his Republican cohorts just before the 2006 mid-term elections? Was it mere coincidence Ted Haggart a prominent right wing televangelist was exposed in the national media as a hypocritical drug addicted homosexual thus thoroughly discrediting the religious right? “COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Saying that he was a ‘deceiver and liar’ who had given in to his dark side, the Rev. Ted Haggard confessed to sexual immorality Sunday in a letter read from the pulpit of the megachurch he founded. The disgraced former president of the National Evangelical Association, which represents 30 million evangelical Christians, apologized and said ‘because of pride, I began deceiving those I love the most because I didn’t want to hurt or disappoint them.’… Haggard, 50, resigned last week as NEA president, where he held sway in Washington and condemned homosexuality, after a man claimed to have had drug-fueled homosexual trysts with him. Haggard also placed himself on administrative leave from the 14,000-member New Life Church, which he founded in the 1980s. Its independent Overseer Board fired him Saturday.” http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15536263/ Was this the corporate media doing its job snooping out hypocrisy and corruption (something it has not done in years) or was it part of a plutocratic in-fight by members of the ruling elite determined to wrest control from the NeoConcrazies and prevent them from putting all their behinds at risk?

I suspect it was the latter. I am not alone in my assessment on this. Several weeks ago I wrote on it mentioning a piece I read on http://www.lewrockwell.com/floyd/floyd31.html “So parts of the American Establishment are at last making a move against the Bush Faction. Unlike the Nixon takedown, this could be too little, too late. For one thing, Nixon didn't have 9/11 to play with; nor did he have use of the Mighty Wurlitzer of the hard-right media juggernaut that serves Bush with Goebbelsian intensity and fidelity; nor did he have control of the Congress, with a party full of lockstep lickspittles and genuine moral and intellectual cretins willing to follow him over a cliff. In addition, Bush doesn't face constant riots in the streets against his foolishly and murderously prolonged pointless war; the American people are infinitely more docile, distracted and servile than they were in Nixon's day, as anyone who was alive then can vividly remember. Nor did the Republicans in Nixon's time possess the extensive, high-tech vote-manipulation and vote-suppression systems that they have today, which have so far ensured that the Faction retains its overwhelming power – despite the overwhelming unpopularity of almost all of its core policies. In Nixon's day, Republican Establishment members had to worry about a backlash at the polls; this is still a danger for them, of course, but not nearly to the same extent. Today, it is possible – just – that an actual, massive landslide for the Democrats might result in a very narrow victory at the polls; it remains to be seen if the Bush Faction's vote-fixing machinery can plausibly handle anything beyond a fairly close losing vote for their side. But certainly nothing less than an historic landslide against the Republicans has a chance of bringing even a miniscule Democratic majority back into power.” Bob Woodward’s latest book, several other books and the exposure of Republican hypocrisy were all part, in my view, of a ruling elite counterplot to undermine Bu$h’s power base and sabotage his disastrous policies that threaten to ruin the game for all of them. “Nixon was a loner, a bagman who used his own sinister savvy to scale the greasy pole, yet remained forever outside the golden circle of the Establishment (as he never stopped complaining about); but Bush Junior is to the manner born, a true scion of the predatory elite that has served as America's aristocracy for generations. That fact alone will make it harder for the Establishment to bring Bush to heel than it was to flush the lowborn Nixon away. And that's why it will never come to impeachment or resignation; such things would reflect too badly on the elite itself, not least on Daddy Bush, one of its leading lights. But some strong shots across the bow, some public humiliation, something to get Bush and Cheney to alter the disastrous course in Iraq – that's fair game, and that's what we're seeing today from some of the old-line Establishment factions. And as ever, Woodward is a key player, toting heavy lumber for the cause. (Note: it is not the destruction of constitutional liberties that concerns these factions and brings them out against Bush, of course. They could care less about that – in fact, it's yet another good argument to them for keeping the Bush Faction in power, albeit chastened somewhat on the military aggression front. Not that these elite players don't hold the same ideal of American domination of global affairs that drives the Bush Faction; they do, in spades. But they recognize that after a certain point you get more buck for less bang. As the Emperor Tiberius used to tell his satraps when he sent them out to govern the conquered lands: ‘I want my sheep shorn, not shaved.’)” War in Heaven: Woodward's Book and the Establishment Insurgency http://www.lewrockwell.com/floyd/floyd31.html

So before you party too hardy and pat yourselves on the back for ousting the vile Republican warmongers, consider this; it was all a sham part of a ruling elite orchestrated take down designed to rein in the Bu$hites while keeping real power where it always resided; not with the people but the power elites (at least in their minds). For more than a century, ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” David Rockefeller 2002 Memoirs. People of Rockefeller’s ilk don’t care how many people they kill, impoverish or ruin to get rich. Nor do they care about the US Constitution or international laws. All they care about is their own fiendish agendas. Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan and Clinton weren’t part of this class blood line wise, so they could easily be neutralized via assassination (successful in Kennedy’s case unsuccessfully in Reagan’s or the threat of impeachment/forced resignation which were successful in Nixon’s case but unsuccessful in Clinton’s). Bu$h is one of the ruling elite families and the opposing faction doesn’t want to take him out like that; so they orchestrated a negative public relations campaign to create enough dissatisfaction to reign him in. Who really won yesterday? In a way it was a short term win-win for all of us, the ruling elite got Bu$h’s attention, Bu$h was forced to make some superficial changes, enough to save his sorry ass for a while and we got at least a short window to make our wishes known to and pressure the newly elected officials to do the right thing before they are totally corrupted by the corporations and individuals who funded their elections or the existing Democratice leadership that sold us out a long time ago.
